Peace Unexpected

Tripping onward towards the Master

Ever hoping to complete

Always full of self-reflection

Forgetting His hands have made my feet

“I can’t make it, Father please save me

I’m too broken, weak, and dead”

“I’ve known this all along, my child

See my Son going in your stead”

A movement catches my eye

As it shifts to the Father’s side

A Son preparing a place for me

A man, in my place, who died.

Suddenly tears

Suddenly love

Suddenly worship

To Christ who sits above

His splendor captivating

His mercy welcomes all

To those who see their shattered souls

And dare to make His call

With a quick His grace reacts

And meets with love to fill

Just as soon to comfort

His older siblings feeling ill

A king now and forever

An army bruised, facing forward

His chosen race and priesthood

Go on, go ye onward

The riches promised by an empty tomb

No iota left out to share

The greatest of all His presence with us

Forevermore to bear

Suddenly sinless

Suddenly mine

Suddenly perfect

In the twinkling of an eye
